Kick Ass Column #5: A Look At Valentina’s KOG Title Reign

Following the truly dominant reign of Christie Ricci as KOG Champion, somebody special would have to step up to try and do what Christie Ricci did for KOG. That person would be another professional wrestler in Valentina, but would her reign be as dominant as the former champ’s.

A Bump In The Road

Valentina would make her KOG debut against the KOG veteran Red Devil, who had already defeated KOG veteran Nicole Oring. Valentina would leave that battle with the first loss of her KOG career, but she would rebound in a coming tournament.

A Champion Is Crowned

Following the departure of then KOG Champion Christie Ricci, a tournament would be held to crown the next KOG Champion. The tournament would feature Nicole Oring, Onyx, KOG rookie Fiorella and ….you guessed it, Valentina. Valentina would go onto defeat former WOW competitor Onyx in the semi-finals, while Nicole Oring would defeat Fiorella. Valentina would then defeat Nicole Oring to be crowned KOG Champion and also start a feud that would last for her entire title reign.

Valentina’s Biggest Rival….Nicole Oring!

Following the victory over Nicole Oring, must people would’ve assumed that Valentina would feud with Onyx, who attacked Valentina after she won the title. They would be wrong though, because Valentina and Nicole Oring would go on to have a spectacular three match series. Valentina would start off the rivalry with two straight victories over Nicole Oring in a regular rules match. Then would come the brutal No DQ 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match against Nicole Oring, which Valentina would win in a battle that took place in the ring and on the backyard ground.

Mr. E Does It Again

If you remember my last column on Christie Ricci, I talked about how Mr. E handed Christie Ricci her lone loss as KOG Champion, in a non-title match. Well, Mr. E would do it again to Valentina, as he would defeat her on a non-title match, making one wonder why he has never gotten a title shot.

A Heartbroken Champion

After a good run as KOG Champion, it would come to an end for Valentina and it would come to an end thanks to two destructive women. Prior to a title defense against Akira Lane, Valentina’s rival Nicole Oring would cut a deal with her challenger, Akira Lane. Valentina was well on her way to victory over Akira Lane, when Nicole Oring would lay out Valentina with a belt shot to the head. That illegal maneuver would give Akira Lane the opportunity to pin Valentina and win the KOG Title.

A Return?

After giving up her KOG Title, Christie Ricci has yet to return to KOG…now, after losing her KOG Title, will Valentina return to KOG?
