Kick Ass Column #6: A Look At Akira Lane’s KOG Title Run

Despite the fact that Akira Lane’s KOG Title run last less time than it took me to write this column, at the end of the day, Akira Lane is a former KOG Champion.

A Mismatched Debut

Match like past KOG Champions Christie Ricci and Valentina, Akira Lane has also stepped into the ring with Mr. E. In her KOG debut, Akira Lane took on the massive Mr. E and came up on the short end after getting knocked out with a big body slam.

A Contender Is Crowned

Despite suffering a defeat to Mr. E, Akira Lane was immediately put into a KOG Title #1 Contenders Match against Nicole Oring. After feigning a knee injury, Akira Lane bamboozled Nicole Oring and choked her out to win an opportunity at the KOG Championship.

A Champion Rises…And Quickly Falls

Prior to her title opportunity against Valentina, Nicole Oring approached Akira Lane wanting to help her win the KOG Title, as long as she gets a future title shot. The agreement would pay off for both in the end, as Akira Lane would pin Valentina after interference from Nicole Oring to become the KOG Champion. However, Nicole Oring quickly cashed in her title shot and immediately choked out Akira Lane to pin her and win the KOG Title, thus ending Akira Lane’s title reign in under three minutes.

Although her title reign was short, Akira Lane did some that pro wrestlers like Shelly Martinez, Amber O’Neal and Becky Bayless couldn’t do in KOG, which was win the KOG Championship.
